Hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas! We have been so blessed to spend the entire month celebrating with family and friends. It went by so fast and now Miss Bailey is 8 months old! Our best present this year was this baby girl and every day we love watching our special gift grow.
Bailey Jayne - 8 Months Old
Bailey now weighs 18 lbs and is 26" long. We don't have to go back to the doctor until January so no shots this month and with the snow this morning we're celebrating indoors today!
Bailey Jayne in her favorite chair
This month has been the most active one so far as Miss Bailey started crawling all over the place and pulling herself up on everything. She loves swimming, playing outside with her big brother Tequila, swinging at the park, chewing on anything she can get her hands on, picking things up and throwing them on the floor, reading books, meeting Santa, playing with wrapping paper and cardboard tubes and looking at all the pretty lights. She has been trying solid foods but isn't much of a fan right now...she makes her Uncle Mat's gagging face perfectly! She is also teething pretty hard so Mommy and Daddy are soaking up all the snuggles.
We hit another big milestone this month...Bailey's First Christmas! She is at the perfect age to get excited, help wrap and open presents and enjoy all the holiday festivities. We had the best Christmas...starting out with Christmas Eve PJs and movies and then waking up early to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house for breakfast, presents, turkey and fun! She definitely got spoiled and enjoyed every minute of it. Then we all headed back to our house for homemade desserts and Bailey got to meet her Great Aunt Janet and Great Aunt Carol for the first time! It was so nice spending time with the family. Then we ended the night with more presents from Santa and snuggles and a movie. Best Christmas ever!

Santa Clause is coming to town...and in our case, visited the Olathe Community Center and Miss Bailey got to meet him for the first time. We waited very patiently in line while kids of all ages climbed up on his lap and watched several little ones burst into tears. Mom and Dad were pretty nervous but as soon as Dad set Miss Bailey in Santa's lap, she grabbed hold of his beard and gave the cameraman her big toothy grin, much to the delight of everyone watching. Such a pro!
Nailed it!
Can't get much better
There were a lot of firsts this month, and one of our favorites was Bailey's first trip to Mayfield! She was such a good traveler and despite some major teething she slept most of the time on the road. We had so much fun spending time with Grandma and Grandpa Schorr and Aunt Erin (along with Avery and Nala). We went out to dinner the first night and enjoyed some live music with dinner. The next day we drove out to the lake house and Bailey got to meet Miss Lynn and her Godfather Uncle Brad! They got her the coolest car that she loves and we had so much fun catching up. She also got to meet Uncle Tate & Andy along with Miss Cindy and Don...though she slept most of the time, those darn teeth!
On our last day, Bailey got to meet Mr. & Mrs. Granier while we enjoyed an amazing cajun meal and yummy pralines before heading back over to Grandma and Grandpas for our holiday meal. Bailey had so much fun showing off her new mobility to her Great Granny and getting lots of love from the family. It was such a whirlwind trip, but we had so much fun! Here are a few pics from our trip:

Watch out world...Miss Bailey is mobile! She has been so close to crawling for months and shortly after Thanksgiving she figured the last piece she needed and hasn't slowed down since! She wasted no time crawling all over the house. And since she can crawl everywhere she can get herself into position to pull herself up on everything. Tequila is definitely not too sure about her new found mobility, especially since she loves to crawl and climb up to him. Walking will be next, and with the help of her new Christmas presents, she is already well on her way!
We were both there to watch her crawl for the first time...it was so exciting!

With our new crawling and climbing feats behind us, baby proofing the house is in full effect. And it just so happened that one of the scripts I was writing was for a new product called Coverplugs, a baby proofing wall outlet. Since we were the perfect targets for this product, we shot the video at our house and Miss Bailey was one of the stars. The video hasn't been approved yet, but we wanted to share a sneak peek:

Our big girl also graduated from her first swimming class! Her lifeguard boyfriend even got her a certificate! She can't wait to show off more of her skills.
First certificate of many!

We are trying solid foods now, though we aren't a big fan right now. We've tried sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, butternut squash, peas, eggs, avocados, carrots and bananas so far. Sweet potatoes and butternut squash are our favorites so far.

December has been unusually warm in Kansas City this year, but we have been taking full advantage of it. With trips to the park and long walks with Tequila. we got outside as much as we could and found a few new favorite places to visit.

Our first baby, Tequila turned 10 this month and we spent the whole day celebrating. We went to three different parks and even stopped for some ice cream. Grandma, Uncle Mat and Callie came over to celebrate and we had a lot of fun - even though Grandma got knocked out for a bit!

With all of the beautiful weather we've been having, we decided to open up the fire pit so Bailey could experience her first fire. This fall had been so busy we hadn't gotten a chance to use it yet. Luckily Bailey is a fan so we will be enjoying the pit for many years to come.

Baby's got...teeth! Boy has this been the month for teething for our sweet Bailey. It seems that every time we saw Grandma and Grandpa Schorr we popped out new teeth. We started with our top 2 teeth when they were up for Thanksgiving and during our trip to Mayfield, we popped out 2 more on the bottom, a few more on the top and a top molar!
Look at those top 2 coming through
Adding more to the bottom
You know what they say about the best remedy...just kidding! (Don't freak out...Mom was making bourbon pumpkin pie and Dad had to take a quick shot for his Uncles)
Even though he is not too fond of her new found mobility, Tequila still loves his baby sister. He is always checking up on her when she's not looking and tolerates her when she is. She always gets so excited when he comes in the room and he always makes her laugh!

BFFs
Our sweet girl is such an independent one already. She can sit and entertain herself with her toys while Mom gets work done. She makes different sounds for her toys and gets really loud sometimes and we love watching her imagination grow. We are always looking for new sensory activities and our new favorite is playing with pasta (cooked and uncooked!)
