Happy Monday! Hope you all enjoyed the Easter Weekend with your family. I can't believe it but our baby girl is 11 months old today! We are so blessed to watch this sweet baby grow but wish time would slow down a little!
Bailey Jayne - 11 months old
Bailey weighs 20 lbs. 1 oz. and is 27-3/4" long. We don't have a doctor's appointment until next month when we go in for our 1 year check up! It doesn't seem real but it is so true when they say that the first year flies by.
Bailey in her favorite chair
Bailey has really nailed the whole walking thing and she is getting faster and sneakier each day. She loves to laugh - at herself, her brother or at Mommy, Daddy and Grandma. She has also mastered climbing up on everything from the couches and her slide to things she is not supposed to climb like the fireplace. Actually keeping Bailey from sneaking around her toys and trying to climb on the fireplace is a full time job. We've already had several tumbles from our daredevil stunts so she is definitely going to be a rough and tumble girl (like both her parents). Bailey loves being outside and exploring this crazy world. She loves digging in the dirt and in the sand, picking at the grass and flowers and following her brother around. She loves to sing and dance along with her cat piano and is already into karoake with Dad! Naps are few and far between because our active little girl is always on the go. We have 10+ teeth now, including some molars, and Bailey loves to brush her teeth every night. She loves to say Mama, has said Dada a few times and is working on a few more words. We don't get to do a lot of deep couch sitting anymore but we have fun chasing our little monkey everywhere!
This past Easter Weekend was jam packed with fun events! We started out Friday night going to the Olathe Community Center for our first Easter Egg Hunt. We had been practicing at home so Bailey was ready to go by Friday night. Saturday morning we got up and went to Deanna Rose Farmstead to volunteer and got to play with and feed baby goats. There were two calves that had been nursed back to health that Bailey loved playing with and letting them lick her fingers. Mom and Dad also went to the movies while Grandma and Grandpa babysat Saturday afternoon and then they came back over Sunday morning with Uncle Mat for Easter Brunch. We had to move our morning Easter Egg Hunt indoors because we had snow falling down most of the morning.
We love beach balls

Just like most holidays, we like to celebrate and since we had some beautiful light on St. Patrick's Day morning we thought it would be fun to snap a few shots. Bailey's patience for photo sessions is limited because she is such a busy girl, so we got to try a few walking shots using Mom's action setting on her camera.

Having way too much fun
Such a sweet girl
We'd rather walk than sit
Hi Mom
Although our Jayhawks won't be advancing any farther in the tournament, we still have nothing but love for them. Bailey loves cheering on the team, wearing her Jayhawk's Cheerleader Uniform, reading her Jayhawk's book and playing with her Jayhawk's Cheerleader doll and her new Big Jay puppet. We are ingraining the tradition early :) We want to thank them for such a fun season and can't wait until next year!
It's serious work cheering on the Jayhawks
Getting ready for game time is a family affair
Dancing to the Sweet 16
So happy to make the Elite Eight
Bailey has gotten more steady on her feet and she is walking all over the house now. She is starting to look a little less Frankenstein now and she has started to pick up speed. She also loves using her new mobility to get into (or try to) everything.
Bailey is such a great eater...she may not like to eat a lot of solid foods, but she likes to try a lot of new things. She still loves veggies - especially spinach and peas, chicken, fish, ham, steak and of course cheese. But she has recently acquired a taste for lemons and limes...the rind and all. Some people may give us funny looks but she thinks they're great! And we don't shy away from messes...in fact, the messier the better is Bailey's motto. We still won't take a bottle, but we have learned how to drink from a sippy cup and our new favorite - a straw! She thinks she is such a big girl.
We love frozen peaches
We could eat spinach for days

Bailey loves to splish splash in the bath and play with all of her toys. Her new favorite are the letters Mom and Dad bought. She loves to chew on them while Mom spells out funny things to Dad when he's at work or in the other room.

We love baths
Watching Bailey and Tequila together melts my heart (most days) and makes me realize how great Tequila is with her. He is her protector, her playmate, her garbage disposal (on some things) and her best friend. She is constantly looking up to him for direction and he has taught her so much. He is extremely patient with her and she likes to test his limits daily. We love to get him out as much as we can and he is loving every minute of it.

We have been fortunate with a ton of beautiful weather this past month and we are taking full advantage of it. We love finding new parks and trails to explore, crawling and walking around the backyard and discovering new things to get into. Bailey loves discovering new things and playing independently and with others. She loves music and one of her favorite toys is her cat piano which she plays non-stop. She also loves to play with her animals and dinosaurs, making sounds and motions for each animal. She doesn't like to stay put for long so we have lots of toys that she can climb on and move around with. We scored an awesome castle slide on Craigslist and it didn't take her long to figure out to climb up (both ends) and slide down.
