Hope you all are having a Happy New Year so far! This month has been a crazy one, but we are enjoying it. Miss Bailey is 21 months old today and growing like a weed! Her little sister is too and will be 30 weeks tomorrow so the countdown is getting closer.
Bailey is getting sassier and a little more stubborn everyday. She knows what she wants and will let you know if it's not quick enough...especially when it comes to clothes (she is hardly without a princess dress or tutu). She loves movies especially Despicable Me and will let you know how a purple minion sounds as loud as she possibly can. We took Bailey to see her first movie, SING and she really liked it...she stayed in her seat for over an hour but then got restless and wanted to run up and down the front row...luckily no one was there. But she made sure that Daddy would dance with her whenever a song came on. She loves singing and dancing, and if there is ever a dance or kiss scene in a movie, you better get ready to hop up and dance with her. She loves to color and play with PlayDoh, cutting it with her scissors and making shapes. She also loves to play with puzzles. Her mermaid puzzle is her favorite and she gets so excited when she gets the last piece in place. It's amazing to watch how quickly she was able to put all 36 pieces together and then jumps up with excitement to give you a high five. Bailey is super active and loves to hop, dance, run and hide all over the house. She also loves Tequila...which she has renamed Bubba and constantly finds new ways to pester him. She is adding a lot of words to her vocabulary including: Bubba, hide, butt & poop (thanks Despicable Me), silly, Beast (Beauty & the Beast), up, sit, juice, and a lot more. She also has a problem when people have to leave...like Grandma and Grandpa, so she runs after them and starts crying for them not to go. It breaks your heart but it's also a little sweet. It's fascinating to watch her grow and learn new things and I can't wait to see what next month brings!
You will notice that we don't have as many pictures this month as we usually do and I am totally to blame. Somehow something in my lower back popped several weeks ago when I sneezed (the joys of pregnancy) and it has gradually gotten worse. We went to our chiropractor to try and get some relief but a few hours later my shoulder/neck seized up and I could barely breathe so we had to go back in. My body had so much tension in it from the pain of my lower back that I was like a spring ready to pop (literally) and one of my ribs popped out. We got that back in, but the tension in my muscles was so bad our chiropractor (and OB) said I needed to go to the ER to get a scan. We chose to not do a CT scan because of the potential risks to the baby and got an ultrasound on my neck/shoulder to make sure that my arteries and veins weren't stressed or at risk for a clot. Luckily all checked out but I was in so much pain that they doped me up with some morphine and some major pain meds to ease the pain. Unfortunately they couldn't prescribe muscle relaxers or do Xrays(because I'm prego) so I was told to not move and take the pain meds for about a week. I can't thank my Mom and Dad enough for watching Bailey while we were at the hospital (she thought it was a party), another huge thank you to my Mom for clearing her schedule to watch Bailey while I was a zombie and to my hubs for taking off a day of work and for all the extra load he has had to take on while I was an invalid. My neck/shoulder area is a lot better but my lower back is not so we are trying new things to help get it back to manageable. I am not allowed to pick up Bailey unless it's an emergency so we have made a game out of it and found creative new ways to snuggle so she doesn't miss out on Mommy time.

January is a fun month in our family for Birthdays and Bailey loved to celebrate with Uncle Mat, Grandpa and Daddy on their special day! We went bowling and played around at Main Event, ate lots of yummy food, spent a fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Schorr and Granny and made cupcakes! Bailey's favorite part - opening up presents that she thinks are hers...and trying to get someone to brush her hair with the grill brush. Here's to another fun year with all those that we love!

We had a pretty tame New Year's Eve this year, working on finishing the basement (more posts on that soon) and some much needed relaxation. But don't worry, we all made it past midnight...even Baby Girl Schorr #2 started partying at midnight.

About 20 minutes after midnight...and yes, T-Rex and Bronte joined in on the fun
This year our goals, besides growing our family by another tutu, are getting out and spending more time with friends while making new ones. We haven't really been reclusive, but remodeling the basement has taken up a lot of our spare time, so since we are almost finished we want to get back out and enjoy the fun with our friends! Plus now that the playroom is finished Bailey can invite her friends over for some fun! We also started a new Wiggles & Giggles class that is every Saturday...the first week was cancelled because of the "ice storm" but Bailey was glad to jump back in last week.

And we're done
Earlier this week, we got to spend a fun half day with Daddy. We went bowling and had lunch at Pinstripes, visited the Museum at Prairie Fire and did a lot of shopping. Bailey really enjoyed it! She really thought it was funny that we saw T-Rex's butt...to which she had to yell "butt, butt" several times...good thing everyone else around us thought it was funny too :)
This past month was full of sports and we love to cheer on the home teams! We enjoyed watching the Chiefs take the AFC West title and were bummed when they lost their playoff game, but it gave us more time to focus on the Jayhawks. Bailey loves the Jayhawks and always points them out when we are out and about. Mom and Dad even had a date night at Allen Fieldhouse where we watched KU beat K-State at the buzzer. There is nothing like watching a game at the Phog. We did have a really sad moment earlier this week when our Ace, Yordano Ventura, from the Royals was killed in a car crash in the DR, but it was heartwarming to see all the love pour out from his Royals family and all of Kansas City while we mourn such a passionate young man. RIP Ace.
Family of Jayhawks
One of the craziest things we've seen
Typical Kansas weather, one day it's 60* and the next it's 20* so we have to make the most out of the good weather we have. We try to get out as much as possible, but Mom's back has prevented long walks so we've had to settle for park adventures. Bailey doesn't mind, she still has a lot of fun. Plus there was some snow to play around in, so she was very happy!
We love playing with chalk

Speaking of outdoor fun, Bailey still loves going to the dog park with her brother (or "Bubba") and it's a way for both of them to run out their energy in an enclosed space so win-win. She loves her Bubba so much and doesn't like when he is away from her for too long (much to the annoyance of Tequila). He is still so patient with her, especially now since we have caught her trying to dress him up herself, try to ride him like a pony and just using his body as a pillow or a chair to get comfy. I secretly think he loves the extra attention, but to a point.

She loves riding on Grandpa's shoulders
If you haven't noticed already, Bailey loves to play dress up. In fact, it really isn't playing dress up as much as it is just wanting to look fancy all the time. Some days it's impossible not to get out of the house without a princess dress or tutu, so we just roll with it. She can be a girly girl at time and loves to play with makeup, tap dance and ballet and of course, be a princess. She is so creative and we love watching her play and grow!

Learning how difficult things were in our youth
All that playing can wear a girl out, and even if we don't like naps, we spend some quite time cuddling each day when needed. She may not rest for long, but she does need to recharge her batteries occasionally.

January was a fun month, even if we didn't get out and do a whole lot, we still had fun capturing some memories. Here are a few more of our favorites...

Bailey's first movie...SING!
A little IKEA shopping
Can't get enough of our shoes
We are doing some finishing touches on our basement so I will be posting about that in the next week or so. Baby Girl Schorr #2 is doing really well, growing like crazy and kicking and squirming more than ever. I can't believe we're in the third trimester...it's going way too fast but Miss Bailey is excited to meet her baby sissy.
XOXO,
Sara, Brian, Bailey, Tequila and Baby Girl Schorr #2
