Miss Sienna is 8 months old today! It doesn't seem possible that this sweet little nugget has graced our lives for 8 months already, but we are better for it. To celebrate, we are going to do her least favorite thing imaginable and get in the car for an 8+ hour roadtrip to Brian's hometown to celebrate Christmas with the Schorr family. It actually combines her three least favorite things...being in the car seat, driving in a car and being out of Mommy and Daddy's arms for more than 5 minutes. She also hates not being able to freely roam around get into everything. When you seriously look into train/bus schedules and have googled "how to survive a roadtrip with a baby that HATES the car" several times in the past 2 weeks, you know it's bad. If you have a moment, please feel free to send good juju our way...or just laugh and be thankful you're not along for the ride. I'm sure we'll need a week to recover for this little adventure (and LOTS of coffee).
Sienna Rose - 8 Month Old
Sienna weighs in at 16 lbs and 12 oz and 27-1/2". No doctor this month (yeah) but she is growing leaps and bounds!
Sienna Rose in her favorite chair
Sienna is a girl on the go and she doesn't like to stop. She cruises all over, whether it's along the couch, with her walker, speed crawling, etc. she is super fast so you can't take your eye off her for a moment. She also likes to try and pull out cords and lots of other things she isn't supposed to be playing with (especially Tequila's dog dishes) so you have to be quick and have super hearing. She is really close to walking, can go for a few steps before falling and Mom is not ready for that. She is teething really hard and does not sleep unless she is in your arms, so sleep has been quite the challenge this week. She is super smart too which isn't helping the sleep because her wheels are just turning so fast, she can't keep up. She loves playing "tornado" as Bailey calls it, where she knocks over all the stuff Bailey has built and lined up...needless to say it is not Bailey's favorite game. She loves light up toys and the Moana singing microphone is her current fave..."With the wind in my sail..." is in my head constantly. She also is loves to dig into boxes and tubs, looking at everything and deciding what is best to put in her mouth. She is obsessed with Tequila and is always trying to sneak in ways to touch him. She loves playing with Bailey and watching her do silly things to make her laugh, Bailey can get the biggest smile out of her and can make her laugh even through tears (usually caused by Bailey). Sienna has started eating solids and is quite the champ. She is also really starting to get into books...and not just chewing them. She will pay attention for awhile before wanting to dive over the top to crawl around on the ground (can't nobody hold her back).
This month, Sienna hit a major milestone...eating her first solid foods! She's been trying to get her hands on some food for the past few months so we had a feeling she would take to it pretty quickly, because mainly she wants to do everything her big sis does. And take to it she has! She eats like a champ and has already tried a lot of different foods including her favorites: avocado, peas and carrots, mashed potatoes (after the first attempt), eggs, tomatoes, mandarin oranges, applesauce and bananas. We thinned and mixed up the mashed potatoes really good the first time but she likes to take bites of the whole foods, just like her sis. And she definitely lets you know when you aren't quick enough for her liking. I have a feeling she is going to be a good experimental eater just like her sis!
So excited to finally be at the big kids table
Yummo banana
Those baby carrots feel excellent on those teeth
She's good at multi-tasking
She really liked the hummus
Don't blink or you'll miss her...she's fast. Now that she's gotten used to the walker, she gets around the room with no problem. She is so proud of herself and can walk back and forth with the walker for a really long time. She is so close to taking those first steps, she will take one or two and then will either carefully lower herself or dive at you. It's pretty funny. She is also really good at standing on her own, especially when she doesn't realize she's doing it. She'll be off to the races in no time!
Just like her big sis, Sienna likes to boogie. She is a fan of shaking it and loves being a part of our daily dance parties.
Sienna is so expressive and is typically a really happy baby (unless she is in a car seat or it's time for bed and you want to put her down. I love watching her little face light up when you walk into the room or the sneaky little face when she is going to do something that she knows she isn't supposed to (I wonder where she gets that!).
Sissy let her wear her big girl jammies
First ponytail
She really loves looking at herself
This is her...I'm not really messing with Tequila, but I am going to face
Happy little unicorn
My little blue eyed girl
Oh hey girl
How did we get so lucky to have to sweet, sassy and hysterical little cuties? I know we may be in for double the trouble later on, but it will be totally worth it. They already act like the best of friends and know how to push each others buttons. I like capturing the sweet moments, but have to laugh when I capture some of the silly ones. Bailey is such a good big sis and Sienna really looks up to her. I can't wait to see all the adventures they get themselves into.
Bailey and Sienna both at 7 months
Playing peek-a-boo
So much love
One of Bailey's biggest pet peeves...Sienna being a "Tornado" and knocking off all her toys that she loves to line up
They should both be sleeping...FOMO is strong in these two
They're in on this together
A little roll reversal
Not sure if she is being nice or about to be mean
Do not let the younger one upstage you
Keeping her on a short leash
The fine line between hugging...
...and choking
She lets her play for a bit...until the tornado is too much
Both girls at 7 months
Brian had me photoshop a latte in, she was def dressed the part of a JOCO Housewife
Love these two
We recently got our family photos and Sienna's 6 month photos back (Christmas cards are on their way!) and wanted to share a few of our favorites. It was cold, yucky, and both the girls were super cranky, but our awesome and super talented photographer (who just had her baby boy Joey - Congrats!!) Kim worked her magic to make sure we got a few good ones. Here are some of our favorites:
That's a little troublemaker smirk
They were both in good moods at opposite times
The holidays are in full swing in the Schorr household and we love continuing past traditions and creating new ones with the four of us. Sienna met Santa for the first time at Celebrate Olathe and wasn't a fan, but has grown to like him over the next few visits. Bailey is an old pro and has told him that she wants a mermaid blanket and food for Bubba each time. Besides Celebrate Olathe, we had Breakfast with Santa at Zona Rosa, checked out the beautiful trees, trains and decor at Union Station and visited Santa at Gingerbread Lane at Crown Center.

I just love Bailey's excitement

Sienna loved the trains
Uncle Mat is so funny
Trains can be exhausting
Not as sure about this one
Over Thanksgiving we celebrated Sienna's baptism with both of our families present. Let's just say that Fr. Gar is a patient saint because both girls were challenging to say the least and it was probably the quickest service ever...and we only got a few shots thanks to the art of distraction. But we are blessed to have many amazing people surrounding our family and know the girls are going to grow up with a great support network and extended family. We love you baby girl!
The only photo before the waterworks started (and not the baptismal fountain)
Uncle Mat was able to calm her down for a moment
We tried
Ooh, look at the pretty stained glass...*click
Cake pops make it all better
No cake pops for this one, but the cold air did her wonders
After scream-crying the whole way home, the moment her clothes came off she was happy as a clam
This one clearly needed sleep...and with such drama
That brings us to Thanksgiving...one of our favorite holidays because we get to spend lots of time with family and we love to cook in our house. This Thanksgiving was a little marred by Mom being super sick with the stomach flu/rotavirus and having to go to the Urgent Care after 3 days of feeling hit by a truck. Super fun right, especially when you have 2 Thanksgiving celebrations, family staying at your house, a super teething/not-sleeping 7 month old, an under the weather and cranky 2.5 year old, a Baptism and Fairy Princess Breakfast all packed into one weekend. I don't really remember most of it, but Sunday Gigi and Pop Pop took the girls and we slept for 5 hours - the longest either of us has slept in one sitting since Sienna was born (Bless you both). Even with all of that we really enjoyed having Brian's parents stay with us and the girls loved all the extra attention!
Gigi made an indoor sandbox...a decision she may regret one of these days :)
Sweet snuggly bunch
Sienna's favorite napping partner
Super sick but loved the extra snuggles

Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without our annual Fairy Princess Breakfast at Zona Rosa. After going to the Urgent Care the night before and some new meds, I felt up to taking the girls (and giving Brian the morning off) in the morning with Grandma Schorr and Gigi (the master of ceremonies). It was definitely worth the strain because the girls had so much fun and Bailey was totally in her element....I thought we were going to have to add an extra place at the table for the Fairy Princess...Bailey was in awe.
Nothing makes you happier than starting your day with your favorite dress, a crown and magic fairy wand!
Look at Bailey's face!
Best Grandmas in the world!
Best Day Ever
We didn't want to leave her
So much joy
In her element
When Gig emcees the event, you get to help escort her through the promenade
Being a Fairy Princess is hard work
Yesterday we took Pop Pop, GiGi and Uncle Mat back down to Crown Center and Union Station to spend the day at Science City. Both girls had a blast exploring and discovering the different exhibits and playing with everything.
A little too much love
Running all the way
My heart
Showing off her ballet skills
Practicing our dinosaur
Showing sissy how to dig and being sweet...
there it is
Why?
Making new friends
Pop Pop got her wet..but she loved it
Tug of war with Gigi
Bailey won
All that running and exploring can wear a girl out
We've been to Crown Center more this past month than we have all year, but each time we've explored something different. Before Thanksgiving, we decided to check out LegoLand with Daddy and it was a lot of fun. Bailey loved the rides, the 4-D movie and building all afternoon. Sienna really enjoyed playing with the duplos and some of the big blocks.
She loved Toto
Enough Duplos that Bailey can't take away from us? Awesome!
Such a big girl
Taking a pic so Uncle Mat knows what she wants
Mom needs this size coffee
We also made a trip to Sea Life...this is the first time that we've been since Sienna's been old enough to really interact with the exhibits and really look at everything. And it definitely didn't disappoint. Watching the wonder of a child's discovery is one of the world's most precious things and I am so fortunate to be able to do that with the girls.
She has to pose with this every time
Her little stance kills me
She looks so much like a big kid
Putting money in the red kettles is one of our favorite things...teach them to give back young!
Touching a sea urchin
She was enthralled
So many things to see
How cool is this?
I love that you can see her reflection in the fish
This is one of my favorites
With my big girl
With the weather all over the place, we were outdoors as much as we could be, but had to come up with some indoor options when it was a little too cold and windy to enjoy the outdoors. We hit up one of our favorite old haunts, Urban Air with Uncle Mat. It was Sienna's first time and she had so much fun jumping with mom, watching Bailey and Uncle Mat and playing in the play area. We will definitely be adding it back into rotation this winter!
Our newest dodge ball ringer
She had just told me.."I'm so happy...love you Mommy" and tackled me...take my heart :)
We have the coolest Uncle Mat
Such a big girl
One of our favorite things about fall are the colors of all the leaves on the trees...one of our least favorites? Picking up all the leaves...especially the ones waist high from our big tree in the back. With limited free time and two kids, getting all the leaves picked up can be a challenge and a 3-part process. The girls and I tried getting a start and raking up some piles first, Dad joined in the next day to start with the mulcher and blower and then Gigi and Uncle Mat came in and helped us girls knock it out and make sure that our fairies didn't get lost in the shuffle. Luckily, even though it is a pain, we had a lot of fun and the girls loved playing.
This is how you rake up the leaves with a 7 month old

She may have gotten a little side tracked
She's actually sitting (these leaves are huge)

Three days of leaves is too much
As I mentioned before, the weather has been all over the place...so when it's nice out we make sure to get out and run around as much as we can. We visited a few of our favorite parks, took Bubba to the dog park and made some new friends.
Jogging with our new friend (well this is when we decided jogging wasn't so fun)
She was really excited about the new fort at the dog park
Laughing at all the dogs
Picking Olaf's teeth
Dancing around at Paulie's Penguin Playhouse
It's snowing! (Bubbles)
Run run as fast as you can!
Deciding this is the best way to get around
More leaves (luckily not at our house)
She is ready to tackle me
Making new friends
More leaves
Pretty girl
Toddler life
So happy to be in her fort
More leaves
What do you mean I have leaves in my hair?
Bailey still loves to dance...she told me today that she was a "Kansas City Ballerina" and loves her dance class with Miss Holly. She also loves showing off her moves after class with the big girls as her audience. Last week we got to come into class to watch...it was super chaotic with all the little sisters wanting to join in but it was super cute to watch!
Miss Holly is the best!
When Miss Holly says swim...Bailey takes it literally
Tequila turned 12 this past weekend and we had a lot of fun celebrating him! The girls climbed all over him, shared his toys and got married to him....and then of course he got special treats, we went to the dog park and gave him extra snuggles. He is so good with the girls, especially with the ever-mobile Miss Sienna who is absolutely fascinated b him. We love you Bubba!
A serious wedding photo
Watching over his girls
The ultimate nap (only lasted 10 minutes, but it was 10 blissful minutes for Mom)
She got knocked over and had to let Bubba know
She loves him so much

The girls like him to ride in the back
Getting the groom ready
Always a bridesmaid, never a bride
Luckily Grandpa brought his gloves
Maybe shouldn't have gone for the carrot
These three have my heart
It's my Birthday!!
Sleep...I heard it's nice, unfortunately we don't get to experience too much of it right now...but at least we have coffee. These girls are both spirited and have a serious case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) so they are on the go and super active until they've worn themselves out, unfortunately for Mom...that time doesn't usually coordinate with a chance to sleep with them. Like it's currently 3am and I am still working on the blog, after taking a break to pack everyone's clothes for tomorrow's road trip and after Sienna finally fell asleep on Dad...all so I can get some last minute work stuff I need done tomorrow, finish packing, finish addressing the Christmas Cards that arrived later than planned, replying to the many texts/emails I haven't gotten back to and finish checking off my Christmas list. (end exhaustive list) Anyways, when they do sleep, it's super cute so I love to take pics to prove that they do stop moving some times :)
Daddy wearing two sleeping babies getting meds for a sick Mommy - super win!
Only they would fall asleep on a chilly day...at least I got the Christmas lights up
What's wrong with this pic? Oh yeah, I was working and not sleeping
Both girls love SnapChat and it's sometimes the best way to calm them down. Here are a few of our favorites:
With one of my favorite people
Super creepy Father-Son Face Swap
There are so many pics from this past month, but we still have a few more of our favorites to share. We are definitely so blessed to have such silly, sweet, fun-loving and caring girls. I love documenting all our adventures.
No words
This is my normal view...better than ankle weights
Happy Birthday Taylor!!!
Whoever created this clearly was NOT a parent of a toddler (face-palm)

Hope you and your family enjoy the holidays. Think of us on our road-trip adventure, I am sure it will be filled with a ton of chaos and laughs and hopefully not too many stops on the way to our destination!
XOXO,
Sara, Brian, Bailey, Sienna and Tequila
And as always, a few more pics from this morning's shoot:
