Bailey Jayne - 16 Months Old

Miss Bailey Jayne is 16 months old today!

Bailey is growing like a weed and her hair is getting a lot longer. She is very active and loves to run, jump and dance and is always on the move. She is very talkative and will tell you what she wants, when she wants it (she can be a bit demanding). For the most part we can figure it out, even if it's not fully clear. She loves to make animal sounds - "Moo" for cow, "Bzzz" for bee, "SSSS" for snake, and panting for dog. One of her favorite words right now is "hot" and is not shy to let anyone know if she thinks something is hot (like the guy at the deli). She is constantly talking to her toys and princesses in her own language. She loves to look for things with her hands up in a "Where" pose and is very good at finding the right things when you request them. Bailey loves to do things on her own - from feeding herself with a spoon and fork, to climbing up the jungle gyms and going down the big girl slide all by herself. We don't watch a lot of TV, but she has seen Frozen and will now go get her Anna and Elsa dolls and point to the TV and tell you to turn it on....therefore, we have seen Frozen a few times these last few weeks. She is also a big sweetheart and loves to give kisses and hugs to Mommy and Daddy, Tequila, Gigi and Grandpa, her Wiggles & Giggles teacher and classmates and every once in awhile a friendly Mom at the park. She loves to get messy whenever she can and share the mess with big brother, Tequila who continues to be very patient with her. We loved watching the Olympics this past month - especially the swimming and gymnastics, which we would practice our Gold Medal moves as often as possible. She loves to show off her somersaults!

We want to start off by wishing GiGi a very Happy Birthday tomorrow! We love our weekly Gigi days and this past month has been a busy one. With trips to Sea Life, running around the park, some treasure hunting and lady lunches. Thank you for all that you do for us! We love you! Here are a few pics from our latest adventures:

This month we started our first Wiggles and Giggles class at the Olathe Community Center and we were a little shy and first but quickly got over it and have so much fun in the class! We are the youngest in the class (because it's supposed to be for 18 months+) but that doesn't stop Miss Bailey from being the most outgoing and friendly! She is quite the hugger in class and loves to help the teacher clean up all the activities. We aren't supposed to have phones in the class, but we did snap a few fun photos and videos.

Uncle Mat surprised us with a visit!

This past month we decided to go on a dinosaur hunt at Powell Gardens during their Jurassic Quest. We lucked out on some beautiful weather and happened to be there during the Butterfly Festival. We loved seeing all the different moths and butterfly and trying to find them outside in the gardens. But our favorite thing was finding all the dinos and roaring and waving at them...oh, and splashing in the fountain!

We've been really busy this past month so we haven't gotten a chance to get out to Wonderscope as much as we like, but we did make it this past week. This time we decided to get messy and do some painting! Mom and Bailey were both covered in blue for the rest of the day, but it was definitely worth it!

With all the beautiful weather we have had this August, we have taken full advantage of it by going to as many different parks as we can. We love to climb up the playground and go down the big slides all by ourselves, Bailey loves the twisty slide by our house and running around in the grass. Tequila loves to join us on our adventures and stand guard watching Bailey, keeping her safe. We're also getting in a few more outdoor pool days before they close for the season.

Bailey is quite the ham and loves to make herself laugh as well as others. She makes a lot of silly faces, loves to shake her booty, show off her belly and dress up in fun costumes.

Bailey is still a really good eater, however, getting her to sit still for a meal is definitely a challenge. She would prefer to eat and run all day if she could, so some days can be more of a challenge than others. She can be a neat eater, but then she likes to shake it up and get as messy as possible. Her favorite foods right now are broccoli, hummus, watermelon, mac & cheese, cheese, cheese (seriously), chicken, grapes and berries.

We like them right off the vine

We love using spoons and forks

Tequila and Bailey are becoming closer everyday...and by closer, I mean that she gets as close as physically possible to him at all times. Fortunately he is wonderful with her and puts up with all the extra attention. They love to get out on walks to the park, share snacks and take naps together still and Bailey loves to emulate Tequila whenever she can. We have to constantly keep an eye on his water dish because she thinks it's cool to drink just like her brother does.

When we're not out at the park or on a fun adventure, Bailey loves to keep herself entertained with her collection of treasures and toys. She loves to play with her princesses, both the big ones and the little ones. She loves when you sing the princess songs and dance with each princess, so Mom has had to become better versed in the tunes. Bailey is also brushing up on her vet and doctor skills and loves to dress up and get into character, taking care of her toys in need.

With all the running, jumping and dancing, Bailey doesn't have a lot of time to sleep, but when she finally wears herself out she crashes, hard. She is still a cuddle bug every once in awhile, so we like to soak up those cuddles as much as we can.

This month we also started working on our biggest remodel to date, our basement! We started cleaning out and doing demo a few weeks ago but there was a lot to tear out and remove. My awesome parents have helped us so much and yesterday Dad and Brian spent all day framing the big wall. We are so grateful for all their help and will be sharing photos of the progress soon. Bailey loves to see Grandpa and Grandma and loves to help when she can. We may have a little DIYer on our hands!

Ready to help out the boys

It is so amazing to watch this sweet girl grow everyday. We are so lucky to be her Mommy and Daddy, She has taught us so much and we love watching her learn new things everyday. Here are some more of our favorite pictures from this past month.
