Sienna Rose - 10 Months Old

She's officially in the double digits! Sienna is 10 months old today and growing like a weed.

Sienna Rose - 10 Months Old
Sienna weighs in at 17 lbs. 8 oz. and is 28-1/4" tall. No doctor's appointments this month, though she is trying her hardest to be like her Uncle Mat and get stitches before her first birthday (note the nice bruise above her eye).

This girl does not stop. She can get anywhere and tries to get into anything (cabinets, drawers, etc). And that little smile she gives when she knows she's doing something she's not supposed to only means one thing...trouble! She's super fast too so we are constantly on the run. Good thing she's cute, I think we'll keep her. She's a noisy little thing too, resembling a pterodactyl, so you always know where she's at. She tends to find her voice late at night which makes sleep quite challenging. Speaking of sleep...who needs it? Not our girl! Her canines are trying to pop through and keep her up at night and give her a nice rosy red glow to her cheeks (another way she takes after Uncle Mat). She loves to drag things around the house even if the objects are larger than she is. She often plays fashion consultant to Bailey and follows her around with multiple dresses to try on. She loves to chase after Bailey and get into anything and everything she is doing, much to Bailey's chagrin. She is starting to say a few words including Mama and Dada and of course Bubba.  Her favorite toys at the moment are the snail and crocodile drag toys, the spinning toy, the stackers, the little Disney Princess dolls, Duplos and the scarves. She's a busy, busy girl and we love her so much!

Sienna loves to dance and really enjoys our daily dance parties around the house. She doesn't always let us film her but every once in a while we catch her shaking her groove thing.

Sienna is very expressive and is a super happy girl most of the time. Her smile can light up a room and she can make us laugh with her little giggle. Add in those big blue eyes and crazy hair that never stays out of her face and she's irresistible.

Here she comes

Watching these girls grow up together is definitely a joy and their bond is already so strong. They love each other so much and they totally feed off each other. When one's happy the other, and new this month...when one throws a temper tantrum, the other is soon to follow. Some days it feels that they are trying to top each other to see who can scream the loudest - either in excitement or anger, so if you see Brian or I and we don't respond to you it may because our hearing has taken a toll this past month. Either way, we love watching them together and hope they stay as close as they get older.

They definitely have their moments

Every girl loves to dance and get dressed up and when your Daddy takes you to the ball, it's like a fairy tale come true. Last Friday Brian picked up Miss Bailey and took her to a Daddy-Daughter Ball complete with Cinderella and Belle, dinner and dancing and plenty of other little girls ready for a good time. Bailey loved getting dolled up in her new dress, getting her hair and nails done ( a la Mom) and taking some photos before her big date. She had a blast at the ball, often leaving Daddy in the dust to boogie with the other princesses and they danced the night away. We are so lucky to have such a handsome prince to do such nice things for us.

Making new friends

Daddy wasn't the only one to get a date out with Miss B. She's been doing well sleeping in her own bed, got accepted into a Peer Preschool Program and has pretty much potty trained herself so there is plenty to celebrate. The weekend before I decided to surprise her with an afternoon out with Ariel at Olathe North's production of The Little Mermaid. Of course she had to dress the part and she did an amazing job sitting in her seat and watching the entire performance, did some dancing, met some friends and even got to meet some of the characters. I look forward to more of these date days with my girl!

Getting ready for the show

Recap with everyone
Our weekends have been pretty full these past few weeks and last week was no exception. We got to celebrate one of our favorite 5-year olds, Mr. Cullen Besse! And it was at Urban Air so we got some much needed jump time in. This was the first time we've been since Sienna's been walking and from her reaction, we will definitely be back again really soon.

This whole jumping thing is awesome!

We loved the play area too

A little tired...time to refuel with some sugar

We had a lot of Birthdays to celebrate this month including our top 3 guys...Daddy, Grandpa and Uncle Mat! Lots of Birthdays mean lots of cake and fun get togethers. We spent Uncle Mat's at Dave and Buster's, we were a little sick for Pop Pop's so we celebrated a couple days late and for Daddy's we went to zoo and then we had a date day at the Melting Pot.

Date day at the Melting Pot

When it's in the 60's in January you have to take a trip out to the zoo and since it was Daddy's birthday, it was a Schorr Thing! This was the first time back at the zoo since Sienna's been walking and she made sure to get as much walking time in as she could. We even made it through the train ride with all smiles. We got to see most of our favorite animals, and the best part...the tiger was out and sitting right out front for us to snap photos of.

Ready to run with the animals

Have you met my new friend Gigi?

Whenever Daddy has some time off, we try to take advantage and get a little fun in. We decided to take him to one of our favorite indoor spots, Prairie Fire Museum's Discovery Room. The girls had a lot of fun showing off their favorite spots and activities and then of course we had to get outside and dance a little.

Reading funny dino books

One thing you don't want to wake up to is gushing water out of your front yard, especially after searching everywhere for a cause. To say that we lucked out on many levels is an understatement. Not only did the City of Olathe come through for us big time and get to our house and assess the situation in less than an hour, but they fixed the water main break and were super nice to work with. Bonus - we got a brand new driveway out of the deal, and we had multiple days of free entertainment. The girls loved watching the workers, had fun making them muffins and cookies and they let us put our hands in the concrete before it set. Thank you City of Olathe for being so awesome!

What a mess

Hooray for a new driveway!

They had us put our hand prints in...Daddy and Bubba did there's later
This weather has been typical for Kansas, one day it's 60* the next it's snowing and luckily the girls love to get out either way. It was hard for a bit because of the bitter winds we were getting but there were a few days that allowed for some outdoor playtime. Plus we got enough snow to do a little sledding and even Miss Sienna had fun!

She loves going on walks

And digging in the mud

Our little Cheetah Girl...definitely not warm enough for no sleeves

Yeah there was still snow on the ground

Hooray for babywearing!

Bailey is quite the snow bunny

Mommy-Bailey sledding time...time to race sissy and Daddy

When it's late at night and the Olympics are on, you have to pretend you're in the games too. The girls started out with figure skating jumps and then turned Daddy into a flying machine.

Daddy is so cool!

Bailey had to get in on the action too

With the weather being iffy at times, we've had to get a little creative with our indoor play. Bailey also got accepted into a Peer Program Preschool with the Olathe School District so we are doing a little school time each day to prepare us for the next school year. She loves cutting with scissors (but not hair...that's for Miss Bree), painting, making indoor snow and working on her letters. Sienna loves to play with Play Doh too...especially if she can sneak a bite when Mom's not looking. She's also working on developing her gross motor skills and is really good at picking up objects, playing basketball and fetch.

As I mentioned before Bailey decided she was over wearing diapers and decided to potty train...or we call it potty learn, because we are learning more from her and she is leading the way. We're so proud of her and her little sis thinks that she is ready too...her favorite activity is playing basketball with the little potty and carrying it around the house. Thank goodness for Lysol :)

Our little fashionista is still on a no-pants kick...we have to trick her into wearing leggings and anything that isn't a dress. It doesn't matter if it's 0* outside, she is wearing a dress. She also loves to dress up her little sis and doesn't take no for an answer...

She's obsessed with glasses right now

Found her ball gown and shoes...had to wear it out of the store
We are very fortunate that our girls are good and adventurous eaters. They love fruits and veggies...stick a veggie tray in front of these girls and it's gone in no time. The love seafood and chicken, steak and pork...there really isn't much that they won't try. Apples and blueberries are both their favorites right now. Bailey always makes sure to let her know that her apples aren't poisonous before she eats them (thanks Snow White) and Sienna loves how they feel on her little teeth.

An apple a day...more like 3

Sharing with Daddy's fun

Spaghetti twins

Another one of our babies that likes to eat...Bubba! He doesn't seem to want to share with the girls as they like to with him. They love their Bubba that's for sure and Tequila is so good and patient with both of them. Poor guy broke his nail last week and we had to take a quick trip up to the vet to get him some antibiotics and pain meds. Both girls were really worried about him and made sure to give him extra loves when he got back (thanks Gigi and Pop Pop for helping)! He is their protector and always keeps an eye on them, either to watch over them or to make sure they are staying out of his stuff. Sienna loves to find the bones that he hides around the house and tries to get in a quick chew before getting caught. You always have to watch that one.

This is only after an hour being up with the girls

Besties

This month has been a real rough one for Sienna...those teeth are coming in fierce and poor thing has a hard time sleeping which in turn makes it hard for Mommy and Daddy to get a couple solid hours in, especially when she has to be touching you or held in order to sleep. Bailey has done really good sleeping in her big girl bed all night, so at least someone's sleeping. Naps tend to be few and far between, so if the magic sleeping dust does fall we try to capture it to prove they do sleep on occasion.
