Bailey Jayne - 10 Months Old

We're in the double digits! How this little one is 10 months old is beyond me, but we are enjoying every minute of it.

Bailey Jayne - 10 Months
Bailey weighs in at 19 lbs. and 27-1/2" tall. We went to the doctor last week because we've had a horrible cold but luckily no shots and we were in and out in no time!

Bailey in her favorite chair
Bailey is moving and grooving more and more each day. She loves to dance any chance she gets, cruises around the house at the speed of light (well, almost), gets into anything and everything she can (you gotta be quicker than that), loves pestering her brother and trying to give him hugs, pulling books off the kitchen island and trying to sneak outside of the "Bailey Zones" without you noticing. She loves playing peek-a-boo and showing you how tall she is. She loves exploring around the house and at our favorite parks, going out to eat to show off her extensive palate, watching KU Basketball, playing the piano and making as much noise as possible, throwing blocks and balls so she can chase them around the house and splashing all the water outside the bath. She keeps us on our toes but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Congratulations to the Jayhawks for their 12th back to back Big XII Championship! Bailey loves cheering on her Jayhawks and she has had a few exciting games to watch this year...bring on March Madness!

Waving the wheat with our feet
Rock Chalk!
We cheered a little too hard during the OU game
Love that crimson and blue!

We've started walking! We're a bit wobbly but get stronger and more stable each day! We have mastered about 8-10 steps at a time, which Tequila thinks is about 8-10 too many. We have countless videos but these are our top 3:

Bailey also said her first word...Mama! Ok, she says it on a continual loop but it counts. We're working on others and in the meantime she started clicking her tongue, which is her favorite new thing.

We got to celebrate Miss Bailey's 1st Valentine's Day with her and her brother at the park since it was beautiful outside, but before that we had to get in a few photos. If you can't tell from previous posts, we love to celebrate holidays. But Valentine's Day tends to be one of my favorites! How can you go wrong with all the pink and red, hearts and flowers, chocolates and candy hearts, along with genuine love and happiness? I can't wait to share my favorite Valentine's tradition with Bailey...making homemade Valentine's for the children at Children's Mercy Hospital (I may have inspired that tradition when I was a wee one back in the early KUDL days!)

Happy Valentine's Day!
Cheese!
Such a sweetheart
I can be a challenge to get a group shot

This picture cracks me up because of her face

Then it was time for Mardi Gras. We had a lot of fun busting out some of Mom's old beads to play with. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Ready for NOLA
We liked to swing the beads
There is nothing better than baby giggles and Miss Bailey doesn't disappoint. She loves laughing at her Daddy, tickles from her Mommy and Tequila acting goofy.

Now that Bailey is old enough to explore a bit more, we thought it would be fun to use one of Dad's half days to go up to Sea Life down at Crown Center. We had so much fun and Bailey loved checking out all the cool fish and sharks! Dad got to touch a couple starfish and since we were one of the only ones there, Mom and Dad climbed in the play area with Miss B at the end!

I'm in a glass case of emotion
Checking out all the pretty fish with Mommy

Finding Nemo
So cool!

When it's 60+ degrees on President's Day and Dad has the day off (thanks bank holidays!) you have to take advantage and go to the zoo! We grabbed our Tula and took the zoo by storm and Bailey had so much fun looking at the animals, especially the sea lions and the monkeys. But our favorite exhibit by far was the Penguin exhibit! Bailey was laughing, squealing and dancing with the penguins and loved that they were her size!

We thought the kangaroos were funny
Laughing at the penguins running by
We love penguins!
Made a new friend
Perfect timing
Watching the penguins swim above us
Petting the baby penguin
Checking out the chimps
Even got a little lunch/nap in...thanks to our Tula!
We liked looking at the flamingos too!
Fun family day at the zoo!
We wouldn't know what to do without our Tula and RS and this month we added a new woven wrap to our arsenal, the Storch Leo. It's beautiful and has already proven its weight in gold during several teething and sick days. Bailey loves being so close and we love being able to get out and get things done so easily. Baby wearing for the win!

Love our new Storch
Perfect for walks to the park

Almost there...
And we're asleep
Suns out, guns out. February has been unseasonably warm this year for us, and although we would have liked a little more snow, we had to take advantage of the warm weather by getting out as much as possible. We love finding new parks and trails to explore and Tequila loves the additional exercise. We even let Callie tag along sometimes.

We love hanging out at Stoll park with Grandma and Tequila
We love to swing
Just cruising around Antioch Park
Showing Dad Cedar Lake
Swinging is so much fun!
A little cold and windy...watching Tequila run around like crazy

Someone wasn't too happy Dad made him ride in the back because he was wet

Brotherly love. Now that Bailey is cruising, walking and crawling all over the place she is able to get up close and personal to her brother at all times. He may act like she bothers him most of the times, but deep down he likes the extra attention. To Bailey, Tequila is her best buddy...her favorite person to tell her stories to, share a snack, go on adventures with and to cuddle when she thinks he needs it. We love watching the two of them together and Tequila has proven to be quite the patient and lovable older brother.

Checking on his feet
Bailey wishes she was out there too

Waiting for Dad to get home

Scrub a dub dub, Bailey's in the tub! Since Bailey and I have been sidelined for a bit with a cold, the pool has to wait so we bring the water play to us in the bath. We have way too much fun yelling, splashing Tequila, eating bubbles and kicking balls around in the tub to miss the pool all that much.

Trouble

We think it's funny to yell at the top of our lungs

Bubble stache
And we can't have bath pics without a throwback of Mom

Watching Bailey's imagination grow is one of my favorite parts of staying home with her. She is definitely quick as a whip (and knows it!) so we constantly find new things to get into (or out of). Her growing mobility keeps us on our toes, but we love watching her explore and play all day.

Dancing on our bear toy
Checking out the play area at US Toy with Grandma
Taking our new shopping cart for a spin
Trying to sneak over our car to get to the fireplace (busted!)
Fun with floam
Trying out some cloud dough with Daddy (FYI it is safe to eat)
Checking out the sturdiness of her fort walls

We love the bear toy

Escape from pillow mountain

Such a happy girl
Bailey loves books. She loves to read them with Mommy and Daddy, she likes to turn the pages and has even tasted one or two...but her favorite thing to do each day is pull out every single book from her designated shelves on the kitchen island. Luckily it keeps her busy while we're cooking or getting work done. We aren't sure if she is following in her Grandma Schorr's footsteps to become a future librarian (or a library's worst nightmare)!

We love to read
Don't be fooled by the cuteness...there are about 30 books on the ground behind her
We do this at least 4-5x per day
We even like reading at the Doc's office
Our girl is growing up so fast and finding everyday tasks fascinating. She has started to like eating solid foods and loves sitting down at the table with us to eat. So far her favorite foods are peppers (green, yellow, red - she's not picky), spinach, zucchini, chickpeas, chicken, peaches, blueberries and carrots. She has explored lots of new foods like shrimp, beef, kale, quinoa, cucumbers, hummus, butternut squash and even had her first taste of lobster. She likes trying new things and making a huge mess in the process. And she loves dining out and sitting in high chairs and flirting with the all the waiters and cute boys.

You have a little something...right there

With all the new foods she's trying, she makes sure to keep her oral care on point so her 10+ teeth stay sparkly clean!

Brush 'em girl
Silly

I will never get sick of the snuggles. We've had a lot of them the past week since we've been sick so we are soaking them in while they last. Sweet dreams sleepy girl!

You know you're exhausted when...
Sweet baby girl
Crashed
Probably our favorite sleeping position
So peaceful
Not going anywhere for awhile
Who doesn't eat/sleep like this

These past 10 months have gone by way too quickly...I can't believe she'll be one soon. Watching her grow is the biggest blessing and we love watching the little lady she is becoming.

Happy girl waiting on the doctor
Sassy in her yoga pants
We had so much fun swimming
Her shocked face
Such a cute face
So excited

Hope you and yours enjoy the rest of your weekend!
