Bailey Jayne - 18 Months Old

Miss Bailey is 18 months old today and by now most of you know that she is going to be a big sister in the spring. She is very excited and loves to kiss the baby in Mommy's tummy any chance she gets.

This week we have been battling the stomach flu so it's been a bit of a rough one but luckily Dad, Grandma and Uncle Mat pitched in to take care of both of us. She's been a trooper and loves to play with bubbles in the bath, so there's always a plus side!

The attitude this child is starting to show is pretty strong...Dad and Mom have to make sure to laugh quietly at some of the facial expressions she gives us...but it is hilarious. I can just hear the teenage "Are you kidding me?" and "What is that" wheels turning in her head so I am sure we are in for it as she gets older. Luckily she is really cute and has a lot more super sweet moments. She loves to give hugs and kisses, whether she knows you or not so her shyness gene is starting to fade. One of her favorite new tricks is to sneak off her diaper and run around the house naked. She thinks it's hilarious and loves to get chased which isn't as easy for this sick prego, but we both end up laughing at the end. She is a lot more vocal and some of her new words include "off", "apple" and "cheese". She loves making animal sounds, mimicking their movements and pointing them out at the Farmstead and in her books. She loves to run, jump and explore and get as messy as possible...digging in the dirt is one of our favorite activities. One of her favorite new games is playing London Bridge under Daddy's legs. We love watching her imagination grow and her personality develop.

We just got Bailey's 18 month photos back and have to say, our photographer Kim of  Kim Joyce Photography is amazing. Here are some of our favorites!

One of our favorite fall activities is a trip to the KC Pumpkin Patch and this year we got to bring Grandma and Grandpa along for the fun. Bailey loved showing off her favorite activities and looking at the bunnies!

We love Grandma and Grandpa

We also got in the Fall spirit at the Maple Leaf festival. Grandma and Grandpa joined in on the fun and all was well until we tripped and majorly skinned our knee at the petting zoo. Luckily some gauze and a new Frozen necklace helped Miss Bailey rejoin the fun in no time. She loved checking out the animals and running off the sugar rush she got from the roasted peaches.

Telling Grandpa a funny joke

Fall is one of our favorite times to visit Deanna Rose. We stole Grandma for an afternoon and visited the Pumpkin Hollow and added to our growing pumpkin collection. Bailey loved the hayride and playing in the soy beans.

We're serious about adding to our pumpkin collection

We also made a trip to one of our favorite haunts, Wonderscope to get some serious play time in. The little climbing room was closed but we got to do a lot of painting which is one of Bailey's favorite messy activities.

This is one of her new attitude faces

Wiggles and Giggles is still going strong and Miss Bailey loves to show off her sweet dance moves. She also likes to show all the older kids how to get down to do somersaults and how fast she can run. She still loves to end class with a round of hugs for everyone.

As we mentioned before, Bailey loves to surprise you in her birthday suit. Sometimes she is quite sneaky and will catch you unaware...other times she is less subtle and watches you watch her take off her diaper. We are hoping this is a phase that will end and we aren't going to share many pics...but this one was too cheeky to pass up.

Filing this for her future wedding slide show :)

Another favorite past time of Bailey's is making a mess...whether indoors or outdoors if she can make a mess with it, she loves it. Which may explain why some of her favorite foods are the messiest! But she may love cleaning up just as much in super sudsy baths.

The weather this month has been up and down, but we are taking advantage of as many beautiful days that we can. Bailey loves being outside - whether shopping or digging in the dirt, she keeps us entertained.

Her best buddy is still Tequila and she loves to take him on adventures and make him play with her (even when he isn't always into it). This past month we got a chance to go to Barktoberfest this year as a family. My favorite moments are when I catch them being all sweet with each other (when they think no one is watching). And of course, she was there to comfort him when he had to go to the vet to get his ears looked at...and we definitely had a melt down every time he had to leave the room.

This has been such a busy month, and we have soaked up as much fun as we could. We even got to play with some friends at Liam's birthday party last weekend. Bailey is trying to convince us that we need a big outdoor trampoline (and she's slowly winning).

Happy Birthday Liam

This makes for a very good pro-trampoline argument

We definitely left the dirtiest and most exhausted

Poor little Miss has been super sick this week (and so has Mama) which equals lots of extra snuggles. We hate to see her not feeling well, but it does feel good to know she still needs us. We also caught a few other sweet moments.

Poor sick pumpkin
With so much happening this month, we had a ton of photos to sift through. It helps when you have a spunky, adorable and sweet little model in front of the camera. Here are a few more of our favorites:

We are definitely blessed and are excited for the future. We know Miss Bailey is going to be the best big sister and that big brother Tequila will have his hands full keeping watch over both of them. Hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!

XOXO,

Sara, Brian, Bailey, Tequila and Baby Schorr Thing #2
